Blueberry Banana Bread Recipe

  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. canola oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 3 large bananas mashed
  • 1 heaping cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 c. walnuts optional


  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Alternately add the dry ingredients and the buttermilk to the wet ingredients.
  4. Fold in the mashed bananas, blueberries, and walnuts.
  5. Pour batter into a well-greased 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  6. Bake at 325 for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  7. Let bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  8. Then remove from pan to a wire rack to cool completely.
