  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 - 10 oz. package cinnamon chips divided
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. melted butter
  • 2/3 c. pecans

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.
  2. Remove from heat, and add half the cinnamon chips. Do not stir. Allow to sit for 4-5 minutes so the chips melt.
  3. Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, combine eggs and sugar til well-combined.
  4. Add in the flour, and mix until blended.
  5. Add in the cinnamon chip/melted butter mixture, and mix until just combined.
  6. Spread half the batter into a greased 9-inch square pan.
  7. Bake at 325 degrees for 17-20 minutes or until golden brown on the edges.
  8. Meanwhile, combine brown sugar and melted butter. It will be crumbly.
  9. Sprinkle it over the warm crust.
  10. Sprinkle the pecans over the brown sugar mixture.
  11. Add remaining cinnamon chips to the remaining batter.
  12. Drop the batter by tablespoonfuls on top of the pecans, and gently spread it.
  13. Return it to the oven, and bake for another 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
  14. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
