Cranberry Apple Crumble Pie

For pie:

  • 1 9-inch store-bought prepared pie crust
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. apple pie spice
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 6 medium apples peeled, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries

For streusel & topping:

  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup cold butter
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • vanilla ice cream optional


For pie:

  1. Arrange pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate, and crimp or scallop the edges.

  2. In a large bowl, stir together granulated sugar, flour, apple pie spice, and nutmeg.

  3. Add the melted butter and almond extract, stirring to combine.

  4. Add the apples and cranberries, stirring gently to coat.

  5. Arrange the apple and cranberry mixture into the pie shell. This will take a bit of finesse to get everything to fit snug!

For streusel & topping:

  1. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon.

  2. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbles.

  3. Stir in sliced almonds.

  4. Sprinkle over pie.

  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes, or until apples are tender when pricked with a fork or toothpick.

  6. Cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before cutting and serving. Can be served warm or cold!

  7. Cut and serve with ice cream.
