A Christmas version of a rice krispie treat – these White Chocolate Cranberry Pecan Rice Krispie Treats are festive and delicious! With a classic combo of white chocolate, cranberries, and pecans, these White Chocolate Cranberry Pecan Rice Krispie Treats come together in minutes!
Who doesn’t love a Rice Krispie treat? You know these White Chocolate Cranberry Pecan Rice Krispie Treats will be a crowd-pleaser, and you can make them in minutes. I don’t know a person in the world that doesn’t crave an RKT here and there, and I love this dressed-up version. These White Chocolate Cranberry Pecan Rice Krispie Treats are a little fancier for serving at holidays – as fancy as a Rice Krispie treat can be, that is.
My cousin requires that my aunt make rice krispie treats every year for Christmas, and of all the people in my family, he is the most staunch about tradition. Everything has to stay the same year-to-year. We can’t even change the potatoes from white potatoes to red-skinned without him protesting. This was suggested a few Christmases ago, and the idea was promptly shut down.
I myself like to try new spins on things – like this Cheesy Green Bean Casserole Amandine instead of the classic green bean casserole recipe. Sometimes just a small makeover is enough to refresh an old recipe.
I’d love to run these White Chocolate Cranberry Pecan Rice Krispie Treats past him to see if they would be an acceptable replacement to traditional RKTs, but I probably already know my answer. Even if he thinks they’re better, they’re not tradition! I hope your family is more adaptable!!! 🙂
White chocolate, cranberries, and pecans are one of my favorite holiday combinations, and I loved that those three ingredients added to a regular RKT gave for a really fresh, festive new treat.
I took these White Chocolate Cranberry Pecan Rice Krispie Treats to my in-laws for Thanksgiving, and they were a hit. So easy to throw together, and they make a much bigger impression and impact than plain Rice Krispie treats!
If you love RKTs as much as we do, I have a few other spectacular versions. These Nutella Rice Krispie Treats are un-freaking-believable. There is nothing that tops those, IMO. These Cookie Butter Rice Krispie Treats are along the same lines – so insanely good. With a heap-ton of cookie butter added in, and a few crushed Biscoff cookies too.
Similar to RKTs, but a little more decked out, my mother’s Chocolate Scotcheroos are a beloved classic in my family. My personal twist on those is with a TON of extra peanut butter and no butterscotch, these Peanut Butter Scotcheroos! Definitely a variation for peanut butter lovers’. 😉

Once the mixture starts to cool but is still warm, add the dried cranberries and white chocolate chips. Once the mixture is cool enough to handle; using clean and greased hands to press into a wax paper lined or greased cookie sheet.

I’m making these TONIGHT…
But altering it , inspired from a favorite cookie recipe…
I’ll be Substituting
Guittard Extra Dark Chocolate Chips..
1/2 chopped dried Cherries / 1/2 dried cherry juice soaked Cranberries
and Toasted Slivered Almonds.. Chopped….
Can’t Wait…. This looks very likely to REPLACE my Cookie Recipe..
Sarah says
Omg, that’s a GREAT idea – chocolate, cherry, almond. YES. Let me know how they turn out!

I have made this recipe several times & they are sooo good. Actually, I first made them on 10/14/2017!
Recently, when I was shopping a our local Sam’s Club I purchased a 1# 4oz bag of Cranberry & Pecan topping by Fresh Gourmet. It says great on salad, yogurt & more….. and I thought hey…I have a recipe for cranberry & pecans! So I was wondering if I can use this in place of buying a bag of dried cranberries & chopping the pecans. Maybe you have even tried it??? Please let me know what you think. I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
