I love making trifles! When I say that you can ‘throw’ this Peanut Butter Pie Trifle Recipe together, I mean that you can quite literally throw it together. Just toss everything in the trifle dish, simple as that.
And trifles are great because they feed a crowd. This will be an excellent option for taking to holiday parties and get-togethers because there’s so much to go around – and when guests try this Peanut Butter Pie Trifle Recipe, you’re gonna need it.
I love to draw inspiration for new recipes from some of my favorite, tried-and-true, go-to recipes. I’ve been baking my whole life basically, and over many years, I’ve gathered a collection of favorite ‘core’ recipes that I know inside and out, that I really love, that always turn out right.
That’s why I often turn to this No Bake Peanut Butter Pie recipe for inspiration. It’s quick, easy, and straight-up delicious.
I have thousands of recipes – I suppose most of us probably do. I have hundreds and hundreds that I’ve clipped from magazines and organized into photo albums. Then I have dozens of cookbooks.
Earlier this year, I got super organized around my house, and one big project was going through ALL my recipes. I categorized my recipe clippings – everything is either by season, type of meal/dish, or by a favorite ingredient (peanut butter, for example!). I have a great system going now, and I hope it sticks! (Update March 2019: it mostly ‘stuck’!!)
Most importantly, I made a small album dedicated to all my ‘core’ recipes. Favorites that I will always love and will want to make again and again. I love to adapt those core recipes into new recipes.
Needless to say, my Grandma’s No Bake Peanut Butter Pie recipe is one of those core recipes, obvi. It’s quick, easy, rich, creamy, and yet somehow light too… it’s just perfect. Full of peanut butter flavor! It’s a dream dessert for how simple and fast it is to prepare, and for how much deliciousness it delivers.
I used that no bake peanut butter pie filling, and assembled it into a trifle with layers of whipped cream and vanilla cake. You can pick up a prepared vanilla cake from your favorite bakery, or grab a pound cake from the grocery store!
To make this dessert slightly NOT no-bake, just use vanilla cake mix at home to make a quick box cake mix. That’s what I’ve included in the instructions, but this Peanut Butter Pie Trifle recipe is definitely nearly no-bake or ALL no-bake.
Either way, this No Bake Peanut Butter Pie Trifle recipe is a cinch to throw together, and it will feed and please a crowd!
I’ve swapped out classic shortbread or graham cracker crust for crushed pretzels, and created this No Bake Peanut Butter Pie with Pretzel Crust. The salty element is fabulous! I did the same with Nutter Butter cookies for this Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Pie.
Then I’ve made that pie with a layer of fudge on the bottom – a black-bottom version, and smattered with a few peanut butter cups. It’s this Peanut Butter Cup Fudge Pie. Hello decadence! Even MORE Reese’s cups went into this Reese’s Cup No Bake Peanut Butter Pie recipe. It’s CRAZY with Reese’s cups.
Along the lines of combining chocolate and peanut butter, this one contains no candy, so it’s a bit less over-the-top, this No Bake Double Layer Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Recipe. Love that one.. just a layer of mousse-y, creamy chocolate pie and a layer of peanut butter pie.
Last, but not least, this Banana Pudding Peanut Butter Pie recipe. It features a layer of banana pudding pie on the bottom with sliced bananas, and classic peanut butter pie filling on top! SUPER easy, but really beautiful and delicious!
